- ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK -

This is a park that is easily accessible from Arusha town and Kilimanjaro International airport and Moshi area. It’s a viable area for day tour wild trips and an area covered by forest with an altitude that range from savannah to tropical forests that are rich with different animal species either big mammals like elephants, buffaloes and giraffes to duikers with around 400 species of birds, different plants and flowers.

Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania after Kilimanjaro and its few kilometers from Kilimanjaro and when trekking it, Mount Kilimanjaro can be clearly seen. It’s a dormant volcanic mountain covered below by a dense forest populated by colobus monkeys and other species. It’s one of the mountains worth trekking.

Long before the availability of cars/safari vehicles, most of the safaris in Africa were done by a guided walk. This still exists in Arusha National park were you can walk through a large herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes and birds through the forest, along the lakes and plains. This is the best part of a safari were the park is famous for. Arrangement can be done for a safari while at a back of a horse.

In the forest below Mount Meru that shadows the park, and Lake Momella, the park is rich with a big number of bird’s species both being residents and/or migrating counting to around 400 ranging from different species of eagles to red shark
